Charlottesville Old Poppy (Papaver somniferum)

Charlottesville Old poppies are rumored to have originated at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.  These vibrant bi-color (red/indigo) poppies add a 'pop' to any flower garden and will re-seed year after year if the pods are left standing.  Dried pods can be used for floral arrangements, while the seed can be used in baking.
